1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Hanzilingo ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Hanzilingo is a platform for learning foreign languages, offering vocabulary, reading passages, audio, flashcards, spaced repetition, and community features. Our apps also include speaking practice — shadowing and dictation against real video — which uses your device's microphone and its built-in speech recognition to score your pronunciation. Some features require a paid Premium subscription processed through Stripe.

These Terms apply to all of our products (together, "the Service"): the website at hanzilingo.com, our mobile applications for Android and iOS, and our browser extension. One account works across all of them, and your learning data is shared between them when you are signed in.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at huangyongcheng3@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. Accounts found to be in violation of this requirement may be terminated without notice.

You can delete your account at any time from within our mobile apps (Account → Delete account). We will ask you to confirm your email address and to sign in again first. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone: it cancels any active subscription immediately and removes your learning data as described in our Privacy Policy. No refund is issued for the unused part of a billing period.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Premium features are available through a paid subscription. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, contact us within 7 days of your purchase at huangyongcheng3@gmail.com.

Subscriptions are purchased on our website. Our mobile app does not sell subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play; if we offer in-app purchases in the future, those purchases will be billed and managed by the store under the store's own terms and refund rules.

5. User-Generated Content

By posting content (posts, comments, or other contributions) to the Service, you grant Hanzilingo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating and improving the Service.

You agree not to post content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes the intellectual property rights of others. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Hanzilingo and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our content without explicit written permission.

7. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Use automated means (bots, scripts) to interact with the Service without prior consent
• Impersonate other users or Hanzilingo staff

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hanzilingo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
